SECURITY SITUATION — Take the usual precautions in Dominica.

Petty theft, burglaries, and minor criminal incidents may occur. It is recommended not to leave valuables in accommodations, on beaches, or in unsecured hotel rooms and rental homes. Avoid displaying flashy jewelry, expensive electronics, and large amounts of cash.

Additional travel insurance is recommended, as Dominica has limited emergency medical services across much of the island. If you are traveling with medication, make sure it is legal and keep your prescriptions with you.

TRANSPORT — Roads in the country are generally in a very poor state. Public transport is based on minibuses and taxi transport. Traffic laws are poorly regulated. The country can be entered by boat or airplane.
In order to drive in the country, citizens of the Republic of Serbia need to hold a national (Serbian) driver’s licence as well as to obtain a local, temporary driver’s licence. The local temporary licence is issued on request, based on a foreign driver’s licence. Driving is on the left side of the road.
