Minister Đurić confers with the Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, Musa Zungu, on Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mussa Zungu, to discuss the further strengthening of bilateral relations and the expansion of cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Minister Đurić emphasized that the two countries share a long-standing tradition of good relations and mutual understanding on various issues, particularly within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Noting that there is significant potential for enhancing cooperation between the two countries, Minister Đurić underlined that the reopening of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Tanzania, expected later this year, will make an important contribution in this regard. It was also noted that the “World in Serbia” programme represents a valuable platform for establishing new links, fostering future cooperation, and strengthening partnerships with countries of the African continent and other friendly regions of the world. On behalf of Serbia, gratitude was expressed for Tanzania’s confirmation of participation in the Specialized World Expo 2027 in Belgrade.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić reaffirmed Serbia’s consistent commitment to respect for the principles of international law, as well as the territorial integrity and sovereignty of independent states, stressing that Serbia’s principled position is that all open issues should be resolved peacefully and through dialogue.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the position of the Serbian population living there.
