Minister Đurić confers with the New Head of the OSCE Mission

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with the new Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Ambassador Marcel Peško, to discuss priorities for cooperation and joint activities in the period ahead.

Minister Đurić congratulated the Head of Mission on assuming his duties and expressed confidence that the joint work of Serbia and the OSCE Mission will remain open, constructive, and focused on achieving concrete results.

He underlined that the OSCE is one of Serbia’s most important partners in matters related to dialogue and the preservation of regional stability.

Đurić particularly highlighted the importance of the support the OSCE provides to Serbia in its European integration process, including in the areas of the rule of law, human rights, media freedom, and democratic standards. He noted that Serbia is making economic progress, that regional cooperation carries special importance, and that the Western Balkans—owing to its potential—can be a valuable partner to the European Union.

The Minister also emphasized the significance of the OSCE Mission’s activities in Kosovo and Metohija, stressing that Serbia highly values its role in monitoring minority rights and the security situation on the ground—matters of special importance for the Serbian community and for maintaining stability in the province.

He stated that the Mission’s support for Serbia’s efforts to improve institutions and public policies represents an important contribution to the stability of the entire region. He expressed his expectation that cooperation with Ambassador Peško will contribute to the implementation of projects that directly impact the daily life of citizens.

Minister Đurić reaffirmed that Serbia remains committed to open dialogue and cooperation with the OSCE, expressing hope that joint efforts will stimulate further development and deliver tangible results.
