Meeting between Marko Đurić and the Speaker of the Knesset

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, held talks, during his visit to Israel, with the Speaker of the Knesset, Amir Ohana, focusing on the advancement of bilateral relations, the strengthening of cooperation, and current geopolitical issues.

Minister Đurić conveyed his satisfaction with today’s meeting, particularly as it is taking place at a challenging time for Israel, underscoring its importance for further strengthening the ties between the two countries. In this context, the interlocutors also discussed the recently launched strategic dialogue, as well as the significance of the meetings and exchanges held during the visit.

Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia regards Israel as a friendly country, noting that the relations between the two states and their peoples are underpinned by a shared historical understanding.

Expressing confidence that the current visit will provide additional momentum to overall relations and contribute to building even stronger ties, Đurić highlighted the importance of enhancing political dialogue at various levels, which fosters mutual understanding and opens avenues for cooperation across numerous fields.

He also welcomed the initiative to establish an Israeli-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, assessing that it would serve as an important mechanism for connecting business communities and further strengthening economic ties.

The Serbian Foreign Minister underscored the significance of parliamentary cooperation as an important bridge for closer relations and deeper mutual understanding between the two peoples, particularly in light of the successful visit of the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, to Israel last year.

Minister Đurić used the occasion to extend an invitation to his counterpart to visit Belgrade.
