Đurić: Serbia and Tunisia committed to strengthening friendly and partnership relations

15. Oct 2025.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today in Kampala with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad of the Republic of Tunisia, Mohamed Ali Nafti, on the margins of the Ministerial Meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement in Uganda.

Expressing satisfaction with today’s meeting, Minister Đurić recalled that the friendship between Serbia and Tunisia dates back to the very founding of the Non-Aligned Movement, and conveyed that Serbia is sincerely committed to the further enhancement of their relations.

Minister Đurić underlined that Serbia highly appreciates Tunisia’s principled position of not recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, thereby confirming, as he noted, its adherence to the fundamental principles of international law and its strong friendship toward Serbia.

The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized that Serbia attaches immense importance to the development of bilateral relations with Tunisia. He noted that it is essential to make additional efforts in the coming period to intensify political dialogue, particularly through the exchange of high- and top-level visits, which would give an additional impetus to strengthening the ties between the two countries.

Minister Đurić expressed his conviction that there is considerable potential for the advancement of economic cooperation between Serbia and Tunisia, as well as in the fields of agriculture, tourism, and education, and highlighted the importance of the “World in Serbia” scholarship program for international students.
