Đurić confers with Turkish Foreign Minister
The two officials held comprehensive discussions on a wide range of issues pertaining to bilateral relations and explored avenues for further enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation. It was noted that this cooperation is grounded in the clearly expressed political will of both sides and in the strong relationship between the leaders of the two countries.
Minister Đurić emphasized that the partnership between Serbia and Türkiye can play a pivotal role in fostering lasting stability in the Western Balkans, underscoring Serbia’s genuine interest in building a peaceful and prosperous region.
The Serbian Foreign Minister also briefed his counterpart in detail on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, highlighting the imperative of resuming the EU-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, which has long been stalled due to the unilateral actions of Albin Kurti.
Minister Đurić expressed his expectation that Türkiye would demonstrate understanding for Serbia’s positions and contribute to creating a constructive atmosphere conducive to the continuation of meaningful dialogue between Belgrade and Priština aimed at normalization of relations.
Turning to the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Đurić reiterated Serbia’s firm support for the Dayton Agreement and the territorial integrity of its neighbor. He stressed that solutions to internal challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina must be sought through inclusive dialogue involving all relevant and democratically elected political representatives, while respecting the constitutional competences of the Republic of Srpska.
Minister Fidan confirmed Türkiye’s participation in the specialized Expo 2027 exhibition to be hosted by Belgrade and extended a formal invitation to Minister Đurić to pay an official visit to Ankara.
