Đurić confers with the Minister of External Affairs of India
The discussion reaffirmed that Serbia and India are bound by a longstanding tradition of friendship dating back to the era of the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as by a shared commitment to further developing comprehensive and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, including through intensified political dialogue.
Minister Đurić expressed satisfaction regarding the forthcoming participation of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić at the “AI Impact Summit” in New Delhi, underscoring the importance of high-level and highest-level visits in strengthening ties between the two countries. He also extended an invitation to his Indian counterpart to visit Serbia in the near future.
Đurić thanked India for its consistent position of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo. He briefed his interlocutor on the intensified repression, intimidation, and ethnically motivated institutional violence by Pristina against the Serbian population, emphasizing that while Serbia remains a constructive partner in the dialogue, Pristina continues to demonstrate an extreme unwillingness to accept and hear the other side and persists in violating its obligations within the framework of the EU-facilitated Dialogue.
The ministers agreed that there is considerable scope for strengthening and enhancing existing economic ties, as well as cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
Minister Đurić also noted that Serbia would welcome the participation of a country with such a rich cultural heritage as India in the upcoming International Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027, to be hosted by Belgrade, and expressed hope that India would present itself to the many visitors expected from around the world.
