Đurić and the Ambassador of Armenia discuss bilateral relations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Serbia, based in Prague, Ashot Hovakimian, to discuss the advancement of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia remains committed to continuous political dialogue and to the regular exchange of visits at various levels.

The meeting examined the potential for strengthening economic cooperation in areas of mutual interest and highlighted the importance of ensuring that such cooperation continues in a concrete and practical manner in the period ahead.

Minister Đurić conveyed that Serbia appreciates Armenia’s position regarding its non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, as well as Armenia’s continued support for Serbia’s efforts to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He further noted that Serbia supports the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump, which encourages the peaceful resolution of disputes through economic cooperation, and welcomed Armenia’s efforts to resolve outstanding issues in its region through dialogue.

Minister Đurić expressed his expectation that Serbia and Armenia will continue to develop cooperation in all areas of common interest.
