Starović pointed out the importance of bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Nigeria

Today, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Starović received the delegation of the National Defence College of Nigeria, led by the Commandant of the College Rear Admiral Oladele Daji, and introduced them to the most important aspects of the foreign policy of the Republic of Serbia.

He especially pointed out the importance of bilateral relations between Serbia and Nigeria, but also with other countries on the African continent. In that sense, he especially emphasized the very good traditional, friendly and historical ties of the Republic of Serbia with Africa, having in mind the common past and cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement.

State Secretary Nemanja Starović also pointed out that this year in Belgrade we are solemnly marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries. Starović expressed our interest in improving mutual economic cooperation between Serbia and Nigeria, recalling the important infrastructure projects that Serbia has implemented throughout the African continent.

The delegation of the Nigerian College was also addressed by the Acting Assistant Minister for Security Policy Ambassador Dijana Ivančić, who informed in detail about the cooperation of the Republic of Serbia with the EU and the European integration process, the struggle to preserve territorial integrity and sovereignty and the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, cooperation with NATO within PfP, the process of regional cooperation and global security challenges.

Ivančić informed the audience about the efforts that Serbia is making in the fight against the corona virus, emphasizing the assistance in the form of donations of more than 200,000 doses of vaccine that our country, as a gesture of solidarity, provided to neighboring countries.
