The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, spoke with Svetlana Judina, regional adviser for Asia at the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the head of the ICRC regional office in Belgrade, Jelena Stijačić.

The Minister said that the cooperation between Serbia and the International Committee of the Red Cross so far was very positive, expressing confidence that the trend of partnership will continue.

He conveyed that Serbia supports the ICRC in all areas of work in our country and other regions, especially welcoming the fact that the ICRC administrative and technical center has been relocated from Geneva to Belgrade in recent years, as well as that a regional center for activities in Eurasia is being established in the capital of Serbia.

The Minister pointed out that the role of the ICRC in this area is very important, given that we are still facing the issue of missing persons.

Selaković also thanked the ICRC for the assistance it provides to refugees and migrants in Serbia, as well as for the assistance against natural disasters, especially reminding of the assistance provided during the 2014 floods.
