Kozarev visits Serbian Armed Forces personnel in UNFICYP mission in Cyprus
Mr. Kozarev was briefed on the activities and operational priorities of the UNFICYP mission, as well as the challenges it currently faces. He was also presented with an overview of the specific responsibilities entrusted to Serbian personnel within the mission.
The Secretary General expressed his gratitude to the members of the Serbian Armed Forces for their professional and dedicated service, highlighting that Serbia—today the third-largest European contributor to UN peacekeeping missions—is demonstrating its firm commitment to peace and stability, in contrast to the tragic wartime past of the 1990s.
He conveyed the greetings of Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić and shared the deep appreciation of the Serbian leadership and citizens for the noble efforts of the country’s peacekeepers.
