The interlocutors reviewed the most important issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as the potential for further development of cooperation between the two countries.
They underscored the importance of exchanges of visits at high and highest levels and expressed confidence that this established practice will continue, particularly next year when Serbia and Japan will mark 145 years of friendship, coinciding with the holding of Expo exhibitions in Belgrade and Yokohama.
The good level of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and investment was noted, along with a shared interest in its further deepening.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of global and regional importance to both countries.
State Secretary Jović informed his counterparts about the difficult situation faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, placing particular emphasis on the status of institutions essential for the survival of the Serbian community in that area.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of multilateral cooperation in maintaining international peace and stability.
During his visit to Japan, State Secretary Jović and Director-General for European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Katsuro Kitagawa, co-chaired bilateral political consultations between the two ministries.
