Assistant Minister Vladimir Marić attends the inauguration of the President of Costa Rica

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Cooperation Vladimir Marić, in the capacity of Special Envoy of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, attended the inauguration of the new President of Costa Rica Rodrigo Chaves Robles.

The ceremony in San José was also attended by King Felipe VI of Spain, President of Colombia Iván Duque, President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader, and President of Panama Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, as well as many other dignitaries from all over the world.
 

On this occasion, Assistant Minister Marić met with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica Arnoldo André Tinoco who conveyed his compliments to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selaković, expressing his wish to meet with him as soon as possible.

In the margins of this event, Assistant Minister Marić met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala Mario Adolfo Búcaro Flores. Assistant Minister Marić stated that the relations between Serbia and Guatemala were characterised by a high level of cooperation and understanding, and that he was particularly pleased with the fact that the two countries were celebrating 140th anniversary of the establishment of their bilateral relations this year. Minister Búcaro Flores said that he intended to visit Serbia in the upcoming period.

Assistant Minister Marić also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile Antonia Urrejola. He conveyed Minister Selaković’s compliments to her and invited her to visit Serbia. Minister Urrejola emphasised that her country would remain committed to supporting Serbia in the preservation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. They both highlighted the importance of mutual support in international organisations, and agreed to hold political consultations between the two countries as soon as possible.
