Washington: Ambassador Đurić with Congressman Jim Costa

21. Oct 2021.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Washington, Marko Đurić, met with the Democratic Congressman Jim Costa, a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the House of Representatives.

In addition to current foreign policy topics, the focus of the talks was on further expansion of economic cooperation between Serbia and the United States, which, as the ambassador pointed out, will gain special momentum in the coming period.

"We are in serious talks with representatives of the American administration, primarily with the US Department of Commerce, about the opening of a special economic representation of Serbia in America in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. The representative office would be in the format of a Serbian House, which would be a kind of a development hub for the presentation and promotion of Serbia's potential in the field of economy, energy, IT industry, technology and innovation", said Đurić.

Ambassador Đurić conveyed to Congressman Kosta, who represents California in the Congress, that this federal state is highly ranked on the list of potential locations, both because it is considered one of the key industrial centers of the United States and because of the significant Serbian diaspora that lives and works there.
