Baghdad: Ambassador Balov visited the Holy City of Najaf and Imam Ali Holy Shrine

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Iraq Uroš Balov visited the holy city of Najaf, with the blessing of the supreme religious authorities, as well as the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, which is considered the holiest place for Shiite Islam.
Accompanied by an envoy of the supreme religious leader, Ambassador Balov visited the place of rest of Imam Ali and, according to Shiite beliefs, the remains of the first man Adam and the prophet Noah were also buried there.
Following the tour, a meeting was held in the premises of the supreme religious authorities. The interlocutors discussed, inter alia, the necessity of all kinds of tolerance and the imperative of interreligious dialogue.
Also, the warmest greetings were sent to the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije, and hope was expressed that he would visit Iraq and the holy city of Najaf in the future.
