Ambassador Vekić with Patriarch Porfirije

His Holiness Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Porfirije received Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia Berislav Vekić in his residence in Prague.
His Holiness and the Ambassador discussed the Serbian diaspora in the Czech Republic, the importance of the Serbian Church in that country, joint activities of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian Embassy in Prague, emphasising the need to preserve the Serbian language, as well as to strengthen the ties between the motherland and the diaspora. They also stressed the traditionally good relations between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
