Ambassador Đurić with Congresswoman Karen Bass

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia at the United States of America, Marko Đurić, discussed today with the Democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass, the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus and member of the Board for Foreign Affairs at the US Congress.

With the discussion on the current events in the region and the world, great this year jubilee in our joint history, as well as excellent dynamics of the bilateral political dialog, Đurić specifically indicated to the importance of intensifying activities in the field of strengthening of the economic cooperation of Serbia and the USA.

Estimating that economy is an area of complete compatibility of Serbian and American interests, Ambassador Đurić used the opportunity to announce opening of the trade representative office of the Republic of Serbia at the US west coast and presented the Congresswoman Bass, who represents California in Congress, that the planned trade representative office was a clear signal of our dedication to further promotion of the relation with such world economic force as the USA.

Đurić and Bass discussed also the importance of global solidarity at the time of COVID-19 infectious disease pandemic, exchange of experience and knowledge as well as vaccine donations, which the Republic of Serbia, apart from regional countries sent to African countries.

Since this year, based on the idea of President Aleksandar Vučić, our country celebrates 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Non-Allied Movement, Ambassador Đurić introduced Congresswoman Bass to a series of celebrations which will be organized by Serbia on this occasion.
