Political relations

On 4 May 2017 the Government of the Republic of Serbia established 25 May as the Day of Friendship with the Peoples of Africa.

Diplomatic relations were established in 1960, after Gabon gained independence. SFRY and Gabon maintained close bilateral relations. The current political relations are insufficiently developed.

In 2017 the Prime Minister of Gabon at the time E. Issoze-Ngondet was in Serbia for the inauguration of President A. Vučić and was the highest official from Africa present for the inauguration.

 

Economic relations

In 2020, our exports amounted to 2,624,000 euros, while imports reached the figure of 93,000 euros. During 2019 the realised exports from Serbia amounted to 2,039,000 euros, while imports amounted to 100,000 euros.

 

Bilateral agreements

Communique and Note on establishing diplomatic relations between SFRY and the Republic of Gabon, date of coming into force: 4 October 1973.

Trade agreement between the Government of SFRY and Government of the Republic of Gabon, date of coming into force: 22 January 1983.

Protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophone Affairs of the Republic of Gabon, date of signing and coming into force: 24 May 2010.
