Political relations

The Republic of Serbia and the Republic of El Salvador share a readiness to strengthen regular political dialogue and cooperation.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia at the time Ivica Dačić met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of El Salvador Alexandra Hill Tinoco on the side-lines of the 49th regular session of the General Assembly of the Organisation of American States, held on June 2019 in Medellin (Republic of Colombia).

 

Economic relations

As part of the accession of Serbia to the World Trade Organisation, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted a Conclusion on the adoption of a Bilateral Protocol on the Liberalisation of the Goods Market between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of El Salvador on December 2011.

During 2020, 34 thousand euros worth of export and 133 thousand euros of import were registered. During 2019 exports have amounted to 27 thousand euros, while imports amounted to 64 thousand euros.

 

Bilateral agreements

  • Agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador, signed on 12 November 1976. (International Agreements, No. 1/1979).
