Political relations

The bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are traditionally good and friendly. SFRY, as part of its anti-colonial policy, supported the Congolese national movement in its struggle for independence, achieved in 1960. The relations between the two countries have progressed steadily since then. There is initiative on both sides and a tendency to improve bilateral relations.

The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Felix Antoine TshilomboTshisekedi was in an official visit to the Republic of Serbia from 25 to 27 October 2019.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia at the time Ivica Dačić was in an official visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 17 to 18 May 2019.

 

Economic relations

During 2019 Serbia’s exports amounted to 913,000 euros, while imports amounted to 2,000 euros.

 

Bilateral agreements

Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation - SFRY - Congo, date of coming into force: 13 November 1964.
