ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Lithuania are allowed to stay without a visa for up to 90 days within six months, as well as in other member states of the European Union and the Schengen Agreement. For entry into Lithuania, in addition to the passport, depending on the purpose of arrival (tourist, business or private visit), the competent border authorities may request additional documents such as: proof of possession of money for subsistence during the stay, proof of paid travel insurance, invitation letter from a legal or natural person, address of residence in Lithuania, etc.
From March 1, 2024 until further notice, on the border between Lithuania and Belarus, out of the six existing border crossing points, only two border crossings are open, namely Medininkai and Šalčininkai.
As for the citizens of R. Serbia Lithuania has no restrictions when entering the country.
SOCIAL SECURITY AGREEMENT
No social security agreement has been concluded.
USEFUL INFORMATION
HEALTH SITUATION – Passengers from the Republic of Serbia are recommended to pay private travel insurance before traveling to the Republic of Lithuania.
TRANSPORT – Driver’s licenses of the Republic of Serbia on the new form may be used as valid for driving a motor vehicle if the person does not have a regulated stay in the Republic of Lithuania.
The Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Lithuania are members of the multilateral agreement, the so-called License Plate Subsystem, which allows motor vehicle owners from Serbia to travel to Poland from 1 January 2012 without the obligation to own the so-called green card.
OTHER INFORMATION – In the Republic of Lithuania, the euro is used as a means of payment. All convertible world currencies can be easily exchanged at exchange offices. Payment cards (Visa, Mastercard) are also a generally accepted means of payment.
