Minister Dačić met with the head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo and Metohija

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić met today with Ambassador Michael Davenport, head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo and Metohija (OMiK).

On that occasion, Ambassador Davenport congratulated on the establishment of the new Government of the Republic of Serbia and personally congratulated Minister Dačić on the appointment to the post of First Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The importance of the work of the OMIK Mission was emphasised at the meeting, especially the respect for the status neutrality of this OSCE field mission, during the mandate of which the respect for human rights, the rights of communities and the strengthening of democratic institutions are being monitored.

They also discussed the latest developments in Kosovo and Metohija, with a mutual assessment that it is necessary to preserve peace and reduce tensions while returning to dialogue, which is in mutual interest.

The expectation that the successful cooperation with the new Government of the Republic of Serbia would continue was also expressed.
