During his working visit to Mexico, the State Secretary of the Republic of Serbia, Damjan Jović, delivered a lecture at the Matías Romero Institute, presenting the key aspects of the foreign policy of the Republic of Serbia and the challenges our country faces on the international stage.

State Secretary Jović underlined that the preservation of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the pursuit of an independent and principled foreign policy, constitute the foundations of Serbia’s engagement within the international community.

He recalled that accession to the European Union is a strategic priority for Serbia, and that the process of European integration is being carried out in parallel with the preservation of strong relations with traditional partners around the world. He also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation, stressing that Serbia remains firmly committed to peace, stability, and good-neighbourly relations in the region.

During his visit to the Institute, Jović held discussions with its Director, Ambassador Juan José Bremer de Martino, on enhancing bilateral relations between Serbia and Mexico and on cooperation between the diplomatic academies of the two countries. The interlocutors agreed that there is significant potential for further deepening the partnership in the period ahead.
