Kuwait: Chargé d'Affaires Vidaković with an official of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry

10. Nov 2021.
The charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Kuwait, Sanja Vidaković, met with the Assistant Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait, Emad Al-Zaid.

On that occasion, Vidaković pointed out the rich history of friendship between Serbia and Kuwait and expressed readiness and desire for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the political and economic field, in the field of investments, as well as health, tourism, infrastructure and military cooperation.

Vidaković pointed out the openness of the Republic of Serbia for investments, its strategic position, as well as special benefits in the field of trade, which make it a suitable partner not only in the region and Europe, but also beyond. She reminded her interlocutor that the attractive water towers, a world-recognized symbol of Kuwait, are the work of our builders.

The charge d'affaires informed her interlocutor in more detail about the economic potentials of our country, as well as the economic reforms, which resulted in the Serbian economy being the fastest growing in Europe today. She emphasized that Serbia has created the best investment climate in the region.

Al-Zaid said Kuwait is interested in cooperation with Serbia in three major areas: providing a secure food chain, tourism and health tourism. He stated that the prices of food products in Serbia are far more favourable than in other European countries, as well as that they are of exceptional quality, which focuses their attention on our country and motivates them to establish bilateral cooperation in these areas, which, as he stated, was at an enviable level in the previous decades.

Given that the situation with the corona virus has greatly hampered cooperation between the two countries in the economic field, it was proposed to hold an online meeting of structures in both countries interested in cooperation in the mentioned areas in early December, to discuss future cooperation steps.
